Ports & Payouts is our cruise, casino, and travel adventure! We share our experiences aboard cruise ships and beyond—from exploring ports and trying great food to hunting ducks, touring ships, playing slots, and sharing the moments that happen along the way.
Our goal is simple: have fun, share the adventure, and build a community of people who love cruising and travel as much as we do.
We’re Frank & Shade, the couple behind Ports & Payouts. We travel together, cruise together, gamble together, eat entirely too much cruise food together, and occasionally disagree about what we’re doing next.
Most importantly, we’re bringing you along for the ride.

The Captain’s Log is the storytelling and editorial side of Ports & Payouts.
It’s where we go beyond the videos to share cruise stories, ship reviews, travel tips, casino adventures, food experiences, behind-the-scenes moments, opinions, and lessons we’ve picked up during our travels.
Cruising is a huge part of what we do—but definitely not everything.
You’ll also see casino trips, hotels, restaurants, destinations, road trips, attractions, and other travel adventures whenever something catches our attention.
If there’s an adventure to be had, there’s a good chance we’ll bring you along.
Oh, absolutely.
Casino gaming—especially slot machines—is one of the original inspirations behind the “Payouts” in Ports & Payouts.
We share wins, losses, bonuses, casino tours, new machines we discover, and our overall casino experiences when permitted.

Hiding and finding decorated rubber ducks has become a fun tradition among many cruisers. We love participating, creating our own duck tags, hiding ducks around ships, and seeing where they eventually end up.
